Welcome to Kirklees Summer Camp!
The Camp is open to children in school years 4, 5, 6 and 7 and is run by an experienced voluntary organisation; staffed by volunteers who have a wide range of experience in schools, university, and the wider world of work. We also offer a number of subsidised places for children from low income families.
Summer 2025 was our biggest and best yet!
In 2025, we welcomed over 450 children to camp for unforgettable weeks of fun, friendship, and adventure. From woods games and climbing walls to campfires and archery, we’ve packed in activities, laughter, and memories that will last a lifetime.
The tents may be down, but Camp never really stops — our team is already looking ahead and planning for Summer 2026.
We can’t wait to make it even better, with new activities, familiar favourites, and plenty of surprises.
Booking for 2026 will open at Easter, so keep an eye on our social media for updates.
We can’t wait to welcome you back to camp next summer!

Price Increase for 2025
Having kept our prices the same for more than 20 years, we have reluctantly decided to make a small increase for summer 2025. This is in light of the ever-increasing costs of food, transport and other amenities, and following parental feedback in 2024 that suggested a price increase would be accepted and understood by our families.
The aim of our charity is to provide unforgettable holidays at a price that is accessible to all families, and all our places are subsidised by our fundraising throughout the year; even with an increase this will continue to be true.
As an organisation, the true cost of a child’s place is £113. Our standard places will now cost £65 + a £1 booking fee, an increase of £5.
Thanks to support from Kirklees local authority’s HAF scheme, we are able to continue to offer assisted places to those who are eligible for just £10, although you will now only be able to book one assisted place per child each summer. For more information about the HAF scheme please follow this link: Home | Kirklees Schools Out.
We thank you in advance for your support and understanding.

Every child’s place at summer camp is subsidised as we know that all families struggle with the cost of childcare and activities in the summer. We need to raise around £3000 per year to keep our cost as low as possible and invest in new kit and play equipment each year. Please help us by fundraising in any way you can.
You can also help us by shopping online through easyfundraising and naming us as your charity – Kirklees Summer Playscheme Camp. It adds 2 clicks to your shop but raises money for us each time. It has all the big retailers and online shops on the website. www.easyfundraising.org.uk
